Evaluation - the 3-step process:
The key to deeper thinking is evaluation, with the 3 step process all students can achieve this.
The application and textbook both teach students a simple process for evaluation. The clear colour-coded icons reinforce the process and enable students to easily evaluate the art and designs of others, and then ultimately to their own work using subject specific vocabulary.
Evaluation is a skill required across all Art and Design curriculums and the 3-step system can be applied in many situations and across a range of different curriculums and examination systems allowing students to easily write about design in depth.
Students follow 3 simple steps to evaluate:
Step 1: Describe.
What is the feature of the design?
Step 2: Explain.
How has the feature been used or added?
Step 3: Justify.
Why has the feature been used or added?
